Green Mechanical Contractor magazine highlights the excellent work done by Jim Patterson at Orchard Valley Heating and Cooling at the Wick family’s project in Northampton.
Part of the National Grid DER Pilot program and a participant in ACI’s Thousand Home Challenge, the Wick Deep Energy Retrofit combines superinsulated airtight construction with thorough basement moisture work, a 5kW PV system and an all-electric high efficiency mechanical system.
Construction by Kent Hicks Construction Co. and designed by Coldman & Hartman Architects of Amherst, MA, with outstanding airtightness (0.06cfm50/square foot of shell, verified by Building Science Corporation).
