High Performance

Berkshires Passivhaus

Our homeowners required a healthy indoor environment with exceptional indoor air quality and ultra-low VOC (volatile organic compounds) content. All materials were screened for potential chemical irritants.

In its first year, the 6.5 kW rooftop photovoltaic system generated more energy than the occupants used for all heating, cooling, cooking, hot water, and plug loads, making the home truly a Net Positive Energy Building.

The Savoy house has been featured in a new eBook, “Net Zero Energy Buildings: Passive House + Renewables”  published by the NAPHN (pp 42-43). Read the article here.
